Random thought: Can you build a business around a domain name?
So I was so chuffed that I managed to register www.podstarter.com as well as .co.za, net etc etc today and in a world where every word and combination of word has been registered already I was gob-smacked that it was available!!
Now - all I want to do is build a business around the concept!
In fact it got me to thinking - how many businesses have settled on names purely as a factor of the .com domain they could actually get. I was equally as chuffed when we scored Utterbuzz.com earlier in the year.
You can introduce whatever other domains you like but if you don’t got the .com - you don’t got nothing : )
Watch this space. Podstarter.com has a name - now I just need a plan : )

I am a bit of a domain name collector ad gotta agree, .com is becoming virtually impossible to register anything pronouncable.
I however don’t necessarily agree that without the .com you got nothing… Generic names like weekend.co.za(one of my favorites) will stand you in good stead in most extensions when you develop.
The idea I like is to have a number of generic term domains that drive traffic to web 2.0 style name. They seem to have adopted names like fuzu, goyu etc.. Not sure if it’s out of necessity.
